In the event that you do not have a local address to meet at prior to the service, and therefore a family members home where the cortege would meet and depart, we can now offer our Reception Lounge at Aston House.

Aston House has a fully renovated Service Hall that offers our clients flexible options on when and how you celebrate the life of your loved one.
Exclusively owned and operated by Tranters, the building started life in 1967 as the New Methodist Church for the village of St Georges. Replacing the three existing Methodist Churches that were situated in Chapel Street, New Street and Church Street, this modern 200 seat building amalgamated the three congregations all under one roof. The Church was purchased by Tranters in 2023 and has since undergone a total transformation, and now offers Shropshire families the flexibility, space and modern features required to hold a fitting service.

Flexibility is the key to Aston House. The usual time restrictions associated with Funeral venues no longer exist. Families can choose from a variety of options to best suit their needs, from arriving up to an hour before the guests and mourners, or arriving in the traditional manner, a few minutes before the service commences, having congregated at the family home first.

The table below, shows the benefits of holding a service in Aston House over a conventional service location such as a Crematorium Chapel. A large saving can be made when combining a service at Aston House followed by an ‘unattended Direct Cremation’ on a separate occasion (Usually the next day).
Whilst traditionally the cremation process would have taken place at the crematorium directly following the service, it is not always the case these days. The legal time limit to cremate is within 72 hours, once the coffin has entered a Crematorium building. Whilst this delay is unusual, it is often the case that the actual cremation process takes place the following day to the service having been held.
