L Tranter & Son Funeral Directors have recently opened a new branch office in Donnington Telford. Renamed Sutherland Lodge the building was formerly owned by Telford and Wrekin Council and originally used as a Warden’s House to Barclay Lodge.
Symon Tranter, the 5th generation to run the independant family business said, “L Tranter & Son, Funeral Directors have been privileged to carry out the funeral arrangements for local families in the Donnington area for over a century and it has long been an ambition of ours to provide an office where our loyal clients and new families to the area could come and make arrangements without travelling to our existing offices in either St Georges or Newport. We had also been looking for a site to locate our growing Memorial business and create a showroom where clients could view a wide range of Headstones, Plaques and Vases, so when this site was offered for sale we instantly knew it was ideal for both purposes. Although Sutherland Lodge is only 22 years old it has been the subject of a complete renovation and finished to the same high standard as our existing premises.
The large memorial showroom, complete with feature window, has been designed to show off our complete range of memorials which we believe to be the finest available”.
